Creative Santa Fe presents Cultivating Prosperity through Arts, Culture, and Creativity
July 13, 2009; Santa Fe, NM – Creative Santa Fe will present Cultivating Prosperity through Arts, Culture, and Creativity on Sunday, July 19 at 2 pm in the Milagro Room at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center. This presentation will feature special guests:
Dr. Jeffrey Mitchell, Panelist: Senior Research Scientist at the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at the University of New Mexico and Principle Investigator on The Role of Arts and Cultural Industries In Santa Fe.
Ramona Sakiestewa, Panelist: Internationally acclaimed artist, designer, and arts policy advocate with works appearing in museums including the Smithsonian Institution, and numerous public and private collections.
Jono Manson, Panelist: Prolific singer/songwriting and seasoned performer, with a long track record that includes major-label releases as both recording artist and producer, and extensive touring nationally and internationally.
Zane Fischer, Moderator: Award-winning columnist of Zane’s World and web editor for the Santa Fe Reporter.
Join us for a lively discussion about how the Creative Economy can sustain us and help Santa Fe locals thrive. What is the creative economy anyway? How is sustainability defined in the context of arts, culture, and creative economy? This program will be presented in conjunction with CELEBRATE SUSTAINABLE SANTA FE – A People, Planet & Prosperity Phestival, July 18-19, at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center. This is an interactive Expo with over 100 booths and 50 classes exploring lifestyles of wellness and sustainability.
